Top 10's of the Collegiate Mind:

1. Getting off campus at least once a week drastically improves sanity. Even if it just means walking down the hill to the grocery store or braving the shuttle; it's worth it.

2. The "Freshman 15"? They don't lie. A selection of three desserts, ice cream, and cereal galore at every meal is not what I asked for when I signed up for 19 (yes, NINETEEN!) meals a week.

3. Tattooing your name, year, hometown, dorm, and major on your forehead might just save you the breath of about 23,934 first-month introductions.

4. Walking to and from the cafeteria IS exercise. Feeling like a marathon? Maybe even the boy's hall for open dorm night...

5. Chapel is more entertaining than it is anything substantiative. Half of the students are sleeping, while the other half are on their cell phones or doing homework. The real thing goes down Wednesday nights at "Time Out" student-led worship. Love it.

6. 19 year old girls still do not know how to flush toilets.

7. Ironing your clothes, actually doing homework in the library (gasp, right?), making your bed, going to sleep before midnight, being to class on time, and having a planner definitely gives you the title "mom" of the dorm. This may or may not be me.

8. Just give up on trying to open your ghetto mailbox from the 1800's. A birthday within the first three weeks = double fail in this category. I have practically built myself a cardboard house out of all my mail.

9. The oh-so efficient laundry machines tear up your wardrobe and literally shrink most things to toddler size. Perhaps the only incentive to lose weight?

10. 26-year old male political science professors quickly make politics a very agreeable subject.
